The basic requirements for this kind of wire rope are: it has a large safety factor, wear resistance, smooth surface of the wire rope, large bending stiffness, atmospheric medium corrosion resistance, and no looseness. Both sealed wire ropes and surface contact wire ropes have these performance characteristics.
5. Wire rope for lifting
It is required to have basic properties such as high tensile strength, good flexibility, no rotation, bending fatigue resistance, and no looseness.
6. Fishery wire rope
Its specific uses are trawl nets, fixed nets, roll nets, net outlines, etc., and they all work in the underwater environment of rivers, lakes and seas. Therefore, it should have corrosion resistance (especially in seawater) and good flexibility. To this end, the surface of the steel wire should be plated (such as thick galvanized and aluminized), the rope core should also be made of fiber with poor water absorption, and the number of steel wires should also be large.
7. Prestressed concrete steel strand
It is required to have high tensile strength, good bending fatigue performance, especially low relaxation performance, so as to ensure the minimum stress loss value under long-term working conditions. Therefore, the prestressed steel strand should be stabilized so that a low relaxation value can be obtained.
8. Tape wire rope
It is the skeleton material used as a rubber conveyor belt, which requires high tensile strength, good flexibility, fatigue resistance, and high straightness, especially requires a strong adhesion with rubber, so the surface of the wire rope must not be oily and keep it clean, for which the steel wire should be galvanized, so as to ensure that the fine steel wire does not rust without protective oil, and can enhance the adhesion with rubber.
9. Tire wire rope (tire steel cord)
It is a reinforcing material for car tires. The requirements are similar to those of tape wire ropes. It needs to have performance characteristics such as high strength, fatigue resistance, good flexibility, and good adhesion to rubber. Due to the fine diameter of the steel wire and the high quality requirements of the coating, the surface of the steel wire is generally coated with a copper-zinc alloy layer (i.e., brass).
In short, due to the wide range of wire rope uses, its performance is also required to have diversity, the performance of the wire rope constitutes the quality of the wire rope, and its quality depends on the manufacturing process to effectively control.
